History of Pierre Bex
Our History
Created by Pierre Beroux in 1969, the company was originally a craft enterprise based in Nancy, France.
In 1970, production moved to Les Angles near Avignon in the Vaucluse region, then to Althen des Palluds, before finally settling at 4 place du Portail Matheron in Avignon, in the heart of the City of Popes.
Under the name "Habbeba," the company first created jewelry, leather goods (belts, hair clips, bracelets...), and later perfumes.
In the 1980s, several brands were created: "Mandragore" for perfumes, "Pierre-Bex" for jewelry, and "Orchidée-Noire" for the couture line. Simultaneously, the company acquired "Ferraggioli" for contemporary jewelry and men's jewelry lines, followed by "J.Sabbagh" in Paris, which produced Haute Couture items for the collections of Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Paul Caillol...
The company then employed nearly 60 people, was present at over 20 annual professional events, exported 80% of its production, and was the 4th largest French manufacturer of fashion jewelry and fashion accessories. Its productions, primarily in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, were renowned and recognized worldwide.

The Art Deco Movement
Art Deco, short for "Arts Décoratifs," is an artistic movement that reached its peak in the 1920s and 1930s. It is characterized by geometric shapes, clean lines, and vibrant colors.
Pierre-Bex jewelry is faithfully inspired by this aesthetic, capturing the elegance and sophistication of the era. Each piece is handmade in France from original stamps, ensuring exceptional authenticity and quality.
Caring for Your Vintage Jewelry
Pierre-Bex jewelry is silver-plated with an antique patina guaranteed nickel-free, then enameled and decorated with crystal rhinestones or pearls. To maintain their original brilliance over the years, we recommend:
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, and cosmetics.
- Do not wear your jewelry while sleeping, bathing, or during sports activities.
- Gently clean them with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
- Store them individually in a dry place, away from direct light and humidity.
By following these simple tips, your Pierre-Bex jewelry will remain timeless pieces in your collection.
